Science administrators from across the Miramare Campus met with public officials from the Council of the Trieste Province at the ICTP's Main Building just after the holiday break to discuss the current status of the area's science institutions and the prospects for the creation of an "interactive," state-of-the-art science centre in Trieste. Paolo Budinich, former Deputy Director of the ICTP, hosted the meeting. Those in attendance hoped that this gathering would mark the first step in a long-term effort to create a centre that would serve as a dynamic educational facility for both children and adults throughout the region.
